KPCC skins the government. for failure to crush fundamentalism, violence
Expressing deep concern over the campaign of violence and hatred unleashed by religious fundamentalists in the state, the executive committee of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) which met here on Tuesday said the Department of State, police and intelligence services had turned out to be a complete failure. to contain the unstable situation.
A resolution passed by the executive said the series of targeted assassinations by the RSS and SDPI in Alappuzha and Palakkad were aimed at creating communal conflict.
The government, instead of crushing the criminal gangs behind the violence, had taken a soft approach towards the fundamentalist elements with whom the LDF had struck a political deal in the last election.
The resolution proposed by KPCC Deputy Chairman VT Balaram called on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to step down in light of the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
He said the use of social media to spread hatred and drive a wedge between communities in Kerala was a worrying trend. The CPI(M), he said, had degenerated into an echo chamber for the lies fabricated by the Sangh Parivar.
The KPCC will organize a program in Palakkad on April 26 against religious fundamentalism and the policy of murder. This would be followed by regional level programs to spread the message of community peace and harmony.
Another resolution passed by the meeting protested soaring fuel prices and blamed state and central governments for the failure to keep prices in check.
Pointing out that the relentless rise in the price of fuel was driving the citizens to scarcity and suicide, he said that the LDF Government of Kerala was quietly rejoicing at the additional tax revenue resulting from the increase in the price of fuel.
The resolution called for sustained protests to control rising fuel prices.
